Asus DDNS: Unauthorized Registration Request

I have been using the ASUS DDNS service (myname.asuscomm.com) for as long as I can remember without issue. Recently I noticed a yellow exclamation mark next to my ASUS DDNS name on the "General/Network Map" page. Clicking on the mark shows the following error. "unauthorized registration request". I checked the setting on page "Advanced Settings/AN/DDNS" and get the same error if I try to (re) apply the settings.

I checked my log file and noticed the following entries for DDNS

xbox one upload speed Asuswrt-Merlin Firmware: 378.55

so my internet has normal upload speeds of 90mb/s, via my laptop, but my xbox one wireless connection is limited to 2.68 mb/s

no clue why

is there some setting in the router that auto-limits xbox connections over 2.5ghz/5ghz?

ASUS AC 68U - Connecting as wireless only; no modem present, possible?

Last night my Clear internet service folded up so I need to configure my ASUS AC 68U to use without a “modem.” The setup instructions talk about connecting the Ethernet Cable from the modem to the main internet port on the router. Then a 2nd line to the PC. But I no longer have a modem.

I tried using one of the 4 Ethernet ports then into the PC and was able to get the router's config screen working. I clicked the wireless settings page
and set it to a LAN link I can use but still see no...

I picked up a Amped Wireless High Power 1000mW Wi-Fi Signal Booster model SB1000.. and installed it on the middle ?? Antenna .. I got zero improvment..
Im mostly on 2.4ghz ..

Am i on the correct Antenna Spot ? .. hs anyone had any success ?

Apparently on the latest Asus release for the AC87U there's a mention of a new mobile phone app that can manage Asus routers. Currently only for Android, you can find it here. It does work with @RMerlin 's latest firmware, I tested it with my RT-AC56U.

Hello everyone I am reaching out to see if anyone has any experience with Charter Internet and using the AC68R or higher router. Why I say higher is that i am open to buying a newer one if needed. I constantly have issues with internet either the provider or my router access (can't get to router by its ip). My cable modem is in my basement and I ran all my wired connections on my first floor with a friend. My modem runs up a cat 6 cable to my office and I have another run down to a Cisco...

How can I increase web history log like tomato which can keep thousands? I notice that merlin/asus keeps only about 10~ entries before it refreshes itself per user.

Also, is it possible to log the full link of specific webpages visited rather than just a domain?

Hello All,

Proud new owner here of an Asus RT-AC68U wireless router and so far am loving the performance of this thing! I do however wonder if anybody has had any woes on stock firmware with the uPnP features? I'm running into two separate issues here...

1) I run Edovia's Screens Connect software for remotely logging into my iMac via iOS devices, and it keeps telling me that the router is mapping the public port to 5900 and that it could cause errors. Thankfully I'm still able to...

Yesterday i noticed that the traffic in the traffic monitor is showing extremely high traffic. I stopped downloading before i noticed it and there wasn't any heavy traffic being used. So i started to investigate a little bit. Switched off all machines apart from my iPhone closed all apps on my iphone, pulled all the cables from the router and checked again and still saw the heavy traffic.

At that point i started to think there must be something in my appartment using this traffic so i...

I tried an experiment this evening by assigning IPs to some of my network clients on my RT-N66U, but it didn't work out as I expected. I use powerline adapters for wi-fi in my house and my own PC has a direct Ethernet connection to the router. So, first of all I turned everything off. Hi everyone,

I recently bought an ASUS RT-AC68U router to replace my old router. Connecting it to my modem and internet connection was hassle free. However I am not able to RDP to my Windows 7 wired desktop (headless, waiting for the right monitor to come on sale ... :)). I cannot use it without RDP. I am familiar with Asus routers as my last two have been Asus and I have been running Merlin on my RT-N66U. But I am having issues with keeping HW acceleration turned on and this is bottlenecking my internet service at 240Mbps - I should be able to get up to 325Mbps with my current service. In addition within a year my ISP will be offering gigabit internet. The CPU on the RT-N66U can't keep up with my internet speeds without HW acceleration so I would prefer something with a faster CPU....

What router should I buy?

Hi All,

I was just wondering if anyone out there has noticed this under their System Logs with the Merlin firmware installed on the RT-N66U. ( I am currently running 378.54_2 because of the DNS refresh problems that everyone seem to be having lately) I have done some research on this IP address and it is coming from China. Any suggestions or help with this will be grateful. Thanks

AC68 WAN to LAN speed problem

I recently got Google fiber (woohoo) and have an AC68 running Merlin 374.43. I've successfully gotten rid of the Google network box and have the public IP at the AC68. When I do speed tests I consistently get 350mbps down and 950mbps up. If I connect a PC directly to the WAN connection it gets 950 both ways.

I have a bunch of dhcp assignments and port forwarding but no QoS (which I know will disable hardware NAT). What else could be gimping my WAN to LAN speed but allow full LAN to WAN?

Hi all,

I have a RT-AC56U that I use simply as a wifi device on my home network. I would like to enable a guest network that has no access to my internal network, but can reach the firewall / router (pfsense) and access the internet through that.

At the moment, I have a number of VLANs in the house. 1 is the internal network and my 2.4 and 5Ghz wifi connections are on that. I also have a server VLAN separate to the main house LAN so that access to servers is via the firewall. I'd like to...

So when I originally got my ac66u I needed replacement. I had already set up ddns through Asus. They told me that name was tied to the router and there was nothing I could do about it I had to select a different name, so I did. Now I have the ac88u coming and it just dawned on me. Is this still true? Do I have to change my ddns yet again?
